Chef Owners/Operators 18-room Vermont Country Inn with Restaurant and Brew Pub,
1986 - 2001

We have come to the sea as a second passion and, technically at least, second careers. Our 15 years as owner/chefs of a Vermont Country Inn give us a considerable capability on the hospitality side of your yacht. Our 18-room inn regularly served 40 guests breakfast and dinner. While we are both accomplished chefs, Ann specialized in breakfasts, baking and deserts, while Glen prepared appetizers, main courses and sauces. Glen was also the brew master for the pub, where our licensed microbrewery served homemade beer to guests.
From 1986-2001, the inn was closed for 5-6 months each year, and we took these times to hone our boating skills. We made offshore deliveries, took hundreds of hours of classroom and shop training, and worked "second jobs" on the water to gain knowledge and sea experience. After we sold the inn business in 2001, our enchantment with boating evolved into a seagoing vocation.
Read more here about our South Seas adventure, where the two of us ran a luxury 80ft. sailboat for a year. We arrived in New Zealand for the last 4 months of boat construction, and in this phase were responsible for developing the maintenance schedules for the systems, purchasing all spares and tools for the yacht (no small task!) and preparing for a 4-month shakedown on the new systems. Next, we provisioned for our 6-month extended cruise, and sailed and maintained her for 7500 miles in the remote Pacific islands. After our one-year service agreement, we delivered a second 80ft. sailboat from Vanuatu to Australia.
Our friends and family web pages will give you a look at what it's like taking a brand new mega yacht from the builder's shop to the Tiki hut. It will also give you the inside scoop on our personalities -- if you like the humor and good nature of our web page, then you'll like us! If you don't, then you've saved yourself some interviewing time!
